Star Light

Star Light
We have the Moon masquerading as the Sun tonight, she said,
Incandescent!
I only see the stars in your eyes, he said,
They shine so true and so sure,
Unlike the moon that basks in reflected glow,
I often wonder, she smiled
If one can mesmerise, merely with borrowed starlight,
For though the Sun doth shine on all that it does behold,
Many fires it doth ignite,
It's only the Moon that does internalise,
It's essential effuse and thus glows?
And as for the stars in my eyes,
That's another tale, yet untold ...
